A “Jam”-packed Pledge Drive

Be on the lookout for a full lineup of fun music programs to jam out to all week long. Here are just a few that will air during our Pledge Drive:

Great Performances: Celebrating 50 Years of Broadway’s Best

The week kicks off with a truly one-of-a-kind special. “Great Performances: Celebrating 50 Years of Broadway’s Best” showcases many of the special compositions and talent that have crossed Broadway’s stages since 1973.

Hosted by Tony winner Sutton Foster in the David H. Koch Theater of Lincoln Center, you can watch as familiar faces celebrate a wide collection of music from Stephen Sondheim to Duke Ellington. Hear familiar pieces from shows you know and love, like “Chicago,” “Waitress,” “Jelly’s Last Jam” and many more.

Whether you’re a show tune enthusiast or general music lover, you can sing along to this festive program on Friday, Nov. 24 at 8 p.m.

Yacht Rock Revue: 70s and 80s Hits

This fall weather may have us reaching for our flannel pajamas or warm, fluffy socks. But during this Pledge Drive, KAMU will make you feel like it’s a bright, hot summer day with this show.

“Yacht Rock Revue: 70s and 80s Hits” takes viewers back to the golden age of the genre. Watch as the band plays classics from musicians like Steely Dan, Hall & Oates, Michael McDonald and more.

See how the breezy sounds of yacht rock are showcased in this special program on Monday, Nov. 27 at 8:30 p.m.

The Highwaymen: Live at Nassau Coliseum

Four men who made an ever-lasting impact on country music both together and apart. Watch “The Highwaymen: Live at Nassau Coliseum” for a true blast from the past performance.

Originally recorded in 1990, see Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kris Kristofferson take the stage to sing some of their most beloved hits.

You can tune in to this performance from “The Highwaymen” on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 10:30 p.m.

Have weekend plans? You can also watch the special when it re-airs on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 9:30 p.m.
